Larry Naeder is the passionate founder and owner of Thunderstruck Bonsai, the only bonsai nursery in St. Petersburg, Florida. His journey, which began with a single captivating encounter years ago, quickly transformed a hobby into a full time dedication to the art.

Larry's work centers on cultivating tropical species native to the Florida climate. He is widely known for his commitment to sourcing local material, often rescuing neglected landscaping and digging stumps from yards, which he patiently develops over years into finished bonsai trees. This process of transforming discarded material into living, miniature works of art is a hallmark of his artistic vision. To continually refine his craft, Larry is a dedicated student of the renowned bonsai artist Nacho Marin.
