This workshop takes place on September 12th. Ryan will lead a workshop in the creation of kusamono design, plant selection, and utilization to create a small accent plant to go with your tree. This is a “bring your own” class intended to follow up from the slab workshop in July. However, if you have a small pot, slab, or other vessel you may bring that as well as whatever plants you would like to style into your accent. You are encouraged to bring moss to fill out your kusamono, but it is not required.
This class is intended to follow the slab making class in July and will take place on August 8th. Muck and dirt will be included, the only materials not supplied will be the slab and trees. 3, 5, 7 or potentially even more trees can be placed on the slab, depending on size of both slab and trees. The focal trees for this class will be ficus and boxwoods and you are expected to bring your own trees and slab.
This workshop will take place on July 11th. Pennsylvania slate will be shaped into a 18-24 inch slab as well as an additional kusamono sized slab. Tools will be provided as well as some protective gear, but for the best experience please bring your own safety glasses and gloves for the best fit. If you wish to bring your own stock slate, you may. This class is limited to 10 seats and is first come first served.
